Elden Ring Has Gone Gold, Day One Patch in Development

Development is going smoothly and the open world action RPG will be "ready for sale on February 25th" according to producer Yasuhiro Kitao.

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has gone gold. In recent presentation filmed in December for the Taipei Game Show 2022, producer Yasuhiro Kitao confirmed the same. With principle development now complete and the game going into mass production, it’s on track to release this February. Kitao stated that development was progressing smoothly and that players could rest assured that the game would “ready for sale on February 25.”

He also confirmed that the development team is working on a day one patch. “The master version has already been submitted, and right now, the team is working on a day one patch to make sure everything in the game is just so.” With the download size for the PS5 version reported to be around 44.47 GB, it seems that could increase depending on the size of the patch.

Elden Ring will be releasing for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Following the closed network test that took place in November, FromSoftware released a new story trailer which outlined the lore, events leading up to the Shattering and how figures like Melania the Severed and General Radahn were involved. Stay tuned for more details on the game in the coming weeks.
