(January 24, 2022) Music was always running in Mark Robertson’s blood, and he brought that lifelong passion to his studies at the Berklee College of Music. While at Berklee, the singer/songwriter who called himself SING-SING was called as the fourth member of the R&B and covers vocal band AHMIR, a group that blew up on YouTube with their stamp on top ten hits from Katie Perry to Rascal Flatts.
Eventually, a solo opportunity opened for the Philadelphia, PA native (along with a name change to SING). For starters, his slow steamy take on Michael Jackson’s “Rock with You” on YouTube reflected his respect for his time with AHMIR. Then his independent single, the rock/R&B fusion of “Don’t Ever” from his 2018 debut E.P. of all original tracks, Dirty Truth, earned him his own video star - winning 2 International Independent Music Video Awards (IIMVA) as a Fan Favorite.

In another track off Dirty Truth, SoulTracks welcomes SING for the first time with the edgy “I Need You,” illustrating the battle of the mind whether to stay or leave an intense relationship. SING’s tortured but soulful vocals cry out for the final answer: “…Should I search to find piece of mind/or just let it be…/Do you want to be with me/or do you want me to leave.” Once again, the rock and R&B mix runs the show, tossed in by a fiery blues guitar that pulsates throughout, transforming into a solo that elevates SING’s emotions in facing his dilemma.
