Look who it is! AEW has changed the wrestling world by offering a new, top level platform for wrestlers to showcase themselves. That is not something that has been around for a very long time now and several AEW wrestlers have become stars as a result. Some names were big before they came in though, and now one of them has made a special appearance outside of the company.

Former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley made a surprise appearances at this weekend’s New England Wrestling WrestleFest 26 event in Poughkeepsie, New York on Saturday. Moxley wrestled in the first match, defeating Channing Thomas. This comes a day before Moxley is scheduled to defend his Game Changer Wrestling World Title against Homicide at The Wrld On GCW in New York City.

This match comes in the same week as Moxley returned to the ring following a three month hiatus. Moxley stepped away from wrestling in October in order to seek treatment for alcohol abuse. As a result, Moxley did not appear for a wrestling event until he returned this week on AEW Dynamite. Two nights later, Moxley returned to the ring, defeating Ethan Page on Rampage.

Opinion: I know he has been back for a little while but it is great to see Moxley feeling like he is back to normal. It was not the longest hiatus but it was quite the relief to see him back on television and in the ring. Moxley is one of the biggest stars in wrestling and the fact that he seems to be healthy, especially mentally healthy, is a great thing to see. Having him pop up at a smaller show like this and getting to shake off some ring rust is a treat for the fans as well, making this a rather cool night.

What did you think of Moxley’s return? What do you see him doing next in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
