A Wisconsin state trooper was injured Sunday in a crash in I-39 near Poynette, State Patrol officials said.
The trooper was inside his vehicle during a traffic stop just before 11 a.m. when a driver behind the wheel of a Honda Pilot lost control and crashed into the rear end of the trooper’s cruiser, officials said.
The crash caused significant delays on I-39-90 southbound on Sunday as the Columbia County Sheriff and Poynette rescue crews worked to clear the scene.
The trooper’s injuries do not appear life-threatening, officials said. The driver of the Honda was not injured in the crash.
No names have been released.
