There was a mixed bag of performances for AC Milan during last night’s frustrating 0-0 draw against Juventus at San Siro, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The paper have published their player ratings (via MilanLive), and they gave Sandro Tonali the title of being the best player on the field as he was ‘dominant in the middle of the pitch and brilliant in the phase of interdiction’. He dropped off a bit in the second half but was worthy of a 6.5.

The same score went to Davide Calabria who did well in his first start for a while and looked dangerous going forward, while Pierre Kalulu and Theo Hernandez also did well, playing solid games with some bright moments, earning a 6.5.

A 6 went to Mike Maignan who was simply not tested given Juve had no shots on target, while Alessio Romagnoli returned well after Covid-19. Brahim Diaz and Rafael Leao showed moments of quality too but lacked the key to unlock the game, and a 6 also went to the substitute Alexis Saelemaekers.

A 5.5 was awarded to Olivier Giroud who fought and put himself about but never really threatened to score, while Rade Krunic and Ismael Bennacer got the same mark. There were two players who struggled most as a 5 went to Junior Messias – who still struggles to play at certain levels – while Zlatan Ibrahimovic came off after 28 minutes having barely participated.
