Injury Report: Warriors' Klay Thompson (knee soreness) late scratch vs. Jazz

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

Before hosting the Utah Jazz on Sunday night at San Francisco’s Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors made a late addition to the injury report.

With Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala already ruled out against Utah, the Warriors ruled out Klay Thompson due to knee soreness. Thompson was out for the second leg of a back-to-back on Friday against the Houston Rockets.

According to Steve Kerr, Thompson’s knee soreness is “nothing too concerning,” via Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

Since making his return from Achilles and knee injuries that sidelined him for more than two seasons, Thompson has played six games, averaging 14.7 points on 37.2% shooting from the field.

As he continues to ramp up his playing time, the Warriors will likely be patient and cautious with Thompson.

With Thompson out, Jordan Poole will slide back into the starting lineup. Gary Payton II and Damion Lee could see increased roles off the bench behind Steph Curry and Poole.

The Warriors are slated to host the Jazz on at 5:30 p.m. PT on Sunday at Chase Center.
