After watching the NFL game of the season, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin experienced a bit of déjà vu. The late shootout between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills reminded the SEC coach of a conference matchup he had with the Arkansas Razorbacks this season.

Lane Kiffin took his thoughts of déjà vu to social media with a reference to the 52-51 last-second win.

“Am I watching Ole Miss vs Arkansas,” Kiffin tweeted. “I mean is this real life?!?!?”

With less than two minutes left to play, the Bills drew up a downfield route and Gabriel Davis beat his man. After making the defender fall on a break, he stood wide open in the endzone and made the catch to put Buffalo up. A two-point conversion made the lead three, but Tyreek Hill quickly responded with a touchdown to put the Bills down by four.

On first-and-10 from the 19-yard line with 17 seconds remaining, the Bills called Davis’ name down the middle between the safeties in the front of the endzone. He caught the pass to help put Buffalo up by three, but the lead was short-lived as Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs into field goal range in just 13 seconds to send the game to overtime.

The Chiefs won the overtime coin flip and scored on a touchdown strike from Mahomes to tight end Travis Kelce in the corner of the endzone.

Ole Miss tops Arkansas

Arkansas trailed 45-38 before KJ Jefferson led the team 65 yards in eight plays over 2:37 with a touchdown. In the ultimate SEC shootout, the Razorbacks struck back against Ole Miss.

After running to the right, Jefferson was brought down by the collar. The flag gave Arkansas a first down and led Sam Pittman’s Razorbacks back to the well. Jefferson got a block and trucked a defender on the edge for an 11-yard run, heading back to the line of scrimmage for first-and-goal. He then ran again behind the lead block and burst into the endzone for the touchdown.

Ole Miss responded with a quick strike of its own. The touchdown pass put the Rebels back on top with less than two minutes to play. However, the fireworks did not end there.

Jefferson completed some big passes to his top targets on the way down the field, reaching the red zone with six seconds to play. Attempting to find Treylon Burks in the back of the endzone, he overshot the target, but as he looked up, one second remained.

On the next play, KJ Jefferson found Warren Thompson for the 6-yard touchdown, bring Arkansas within one point of Ole Miss. Instead of kicking the extra point and heading to overtime, Sam Pittman sent the offense on the field.

Jefferson rolled right but was met by two defenders and lofted a ball toward the corner. It fell incomplete and Ole Miss won the game 52-51 in the SEC shootout of the season.
