Daily Debate: Should Horses Be More Customizable in Breath of the Wild 2?

For me, character customization is always a plus when included in a game, so imagine my delight when I could change up my horses’ looks in Breath of the Wild. Customization can become tiresome, though, when there are way too many options to choose from. I was exhausted after making my character in Fallout: New Vegas and custom fighters in Soul Calibur games. So, there is such a thing as too much customization. I would love for the horses in Breath of the Wild 2 to be more customizable than those in the first game, though. The question is, what should and shouldn’t be added?
More hairstyles would be welcome, in my opinion. But the selection was already strong, so not too many more options. If the selection doubled I might be overwhelmed. But some other braids or accessories for the mane would be nice, maybe even space buns or something. And instead of having four options that are different colors, I would prefer all of the hairstyles be available in a range of colors. I would also be cool to be able to pick from a few types of flowers to adorn the mane and change the color of any other accessories.
On that note, I would love to be able to change the color of the body of my horse. Although, this might take the joy out of finding some unique colored horses in the wild. Perhaps the only colors available for customization should be zany ones that don’t occur in the wild. Or, better yet, you can’t change the color of the whole bodice but you can have a selection of icons spray-painted onto the horse’s hindquarters. I don’t want this to seem like branding, because ouch, so I can see this being a bad idea. But I think it would be so fun to get a Triforce or Sheikah crest painted onto the side of my steed.
Finally, saddles. Truthfully, I didn’t realize how many saddles and bridles there actually are hidden throughout Hyrule in Breath of the Wild. They’re all awesome. I think it’s a solid selection, so in my mind there’s no need to expand these offerings. But– offering a few variations on the basic saddle right from the start would be great. I personally never found any of the other saddles, so for people like me who might easily miss the special ones a handful of defaults would be a welcome inclusion.
