Comedy Central animated series South Park is revisiting some of its “greatest hits” in anticipation of its landmark 25th season, set to premiere on Wednesday, February 2nd.
In a series of clips posted to YouTube, a 30-piece orchestra takes on a number of the shows most humorous musical numbers, from the its Primus-performed theme song to “Gay Fish”, the Kanye West parody from Season 13, Episode 5, “FISHSTICKS” (you know, the one where Ye is the only person in the country who doesn’t get Jimmy’s “Fish Sticks” joke).
Other appropriately upper-crust selections arranged by the South Park orchestra so far include “Kyle’s Mom” (from 1999 feature film South Park: Bigger, Longer, & Uncut) and “Jackin’ It In San Diego” (from Season 16 Episode 5, “BUTTERBALLS”). Watch the auspicious orchestral recreations below.

In other music-adjacent South Park news, rapper Kendrick Lamar, producer/record executive Dave Free, and South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone announced last week that they will join forces to produce a new live-action film for Paramount Pictures. The comedy reportedly follows a young Black man interning as a “slave reenactor at a living history museum” who finds out that his white girlfriend’s ancestors owned his.
The as yet untitled film was written by Vernon Chatman, the four-time Emmy and Peabody award-winning writer, director, and voice actor. In addition to creating Adult Swim’s The Shivering Truth and co-creating cult favorite series like Wonder Showzen, Xavier: Renegade Angel, Trigger Warning With Killer Mike, and Doggie Fizzle Televizzle With Snoop Dogg, Chatman has served as a writer-producer on South Park for 20 seasons.
