The Rangers reassigned Gettinger to AHL Hartford on Sunday.
Gettinger has bounced between rosters since late December and has played four games for the Rangers while averaging 8:56 of ice time. It would likely take injuries or COVID-19 issues on New York's roster for the 23-year-old to get more playing time this season.
