5 coaches to replace Frank Vogel in the summer if the Lakers fire him

To this point of the season, it is fair to say that the Los Angeles Lakers have not met their lofty expectations.

This past off-season, the purple and gold reloaded in a big and bad way. They brought in former Lakers who were glue guys from the previous championship in Dwight Howard, Avery Bradley, and Rajon Rondo.

They also brought in familiar faces from the past in Wayne Ellington, Kent Bazemore, and Trevor Ariza. They were able to bring in some excellent young talent in Kendrick Nunn, Austin Reaves, and Malik Monk. Along with two massive names in Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook.

They filled the rest of the roster out with some much-needed shooting and rim protection.

Lakersnation sat back and was euphoric at the title contender that GM Rob Pelinka was able to put together for LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Fast forward to today and this Lakers team has not lived up to the hype. They have been ravaged by injuries, poor effort levels, and simply do not show up on some nights.

While the team as a whole should be responsible for the numerous poor performances, the blame will fall firmly on Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel’s shoulders.

Vogel was not given a roster that was conducive to his style of play. Vogel’s philosophy has always been tough nose defense, bully ball, and team defense leading to easy offense.

This Lakers roster has a large number of aging veterans who at this point in their career do not want to burn themselves out in the regular season.

The Lakers will more than likely wait until the off-season in search of a new head coach.

The writing was on the wall at the start of the season when Vogel was given a one-year extension.
