The New England Patriots are eliminated from the playoffs, but that doesn’t mean the remaining games and results won’t impact the team in some way.

As Saturday’s AFC Divisional game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans proved, good defense can still carry a team as the game featured some inspired defense from both sides.

In a 19-16 upset loss, the Titans sacked Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow nine times.  It wasn’t enough for the No. 1 seed to advance, but just looking at how Mike Vrabel’s defense got after it may spark Belichick to attempt to lore a couple of pending free agents to New England.

Could the New England Patriots lore more Titans players to Foxborough?

With that horrid defensive performance against the Buffalo Bills in which Josh Allen orchestrated seven consecutive touchdown drives, the Patriots will be searching to get younger, faster, and more physical on all three levels of their defense, particularly the linebacker position.

While the Titans will have a need at linebacker themselves, they do feature three players at the linebacker position who Belichick should absolutely target.

Each of these players would help the team get younger and quicker while adding some of that Vrabel toughness to the Patriots’ defense.

Now that the Tennessee Titans are eliminated let’s take a look at those players and how each of them could help Belichick transform his defensive approach in 2022.
