Two Snowmobile Accidents in Wayne County, 1 Person Airlifted to Strong

One driver was killed and another hospitalized following a two-car collision on State Route 31 in the town of Lyons late Friday morning. State Police say Nancy Delork, of Lyons, was traveling west when her car crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck an eastbound car head-on. Delork was airlifted to Strong for treatment of her injuries.

Another arrest has been made in connection to the May 12th assault and robbery of an autistic Newark teen. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of 18 year old Thomas Eaves of Geneva on a warrant issued for the early May incident where he, along with Jordan Dreschler and two juveniles, are alleged to have assaulted then robbed the 16 year old victim of his shoes and phone. Dreschler is also accused of filming the incident.

A Lyons man faces multiple charges after a Friday afternoon incident. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Dorian Weeks after striking another person in the head with a liquor bottle in the presence of a minor. Weeks was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment.

A Varrick man was arrested early Sunday morning in Seneca Falls. Police report the arrest of Corey Jensen at 1:14a after he was pulled over for failing to keep right on a Bridge Street. It was found that, due to failure to appear in court on multiple dates, Jensen’s license was suspended.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a New Jersey man following the investigation into a Burglary on Cole Road in the Town of Lyons. John P. Lipert, age 25, of Andover New Jersey was arrested on a warrant for Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree and two counts of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree. The charges stem from an investigation into a burglary that occurred in May of 2021 on Cole Road in the Town of Lyons. It is alleged that Lipert unlawfully entered a building on Cole Road and stole several tools. During the commission of the burglary, it is also alleged that Lipert did damage to the building and a vehicle that was parked at the location.

Former Watkins Glen Police Officer Brandon Matthews has pled guilty to official misconduct for sleeping on the job. The woman charged with striking and killing a 56-year-old Bath man with her car in May of 2019 was convicted this week in Steuben County Court. 47-year-old Tonia Smith, of Painted Post, was found guilty of felony manslaughter and reckless endangerment. Case, 67, of Lake Road in the Town of Williamson for 1 Count of Unlawful Imprisonment in the 2nd Degree and 1 Count of Harassment in the 2nd Degree. The charges stem from an investigation into a domestic incident where it is alleged that Case had grabbed the female victim from behind and tackled her to the ground remaining on top of her refusing to allow her to get up against her will. It is alleged that the female victim stated to Case multiple times to allow her to get up and that Case was hurting her to which Case ignored and continued to restrain her unlawfully. Case was transported to the Wayne County Jail for CAP arraignment on 05/19/22 at 7:00 am.
