These 2 Illinois restaurants made Yelp's Top 100 of 2022

Only two restaurants in the Land of Lincoln broke into Yelp's top 100 U.S. restaurants of 2022 list.

If you live in downstate Illinois, you may have to drive a few hours.

Oriole in Chicago

Located in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, Oriole came in at No. 4 in the nation on Yelp's list. The restaurant is known for its changing seasonal tasting menu and elegant dining room, according to Yelp. 

Those who wish to try chef Noah Sandoval's dinner-only service need to stop in at 661 W. Walnut St. in Chicago for the experience.

Also located in Chicago, this Balkan eatery sits at No. 25 on Yelp's list and rounds out Illinois' representation in the top 100. 

The name of the restaurant is inspired by an area code in Leskovac, Serbia, the city whose cuisine serves as the inspiration for the menu. Yelp recommends trying the chievapi, a grilled skinless beef sausage, a traditional Serbian entree. 

It is located on the northern side of Chicago at 5077 N. Lincoln Ave.

How did Yelp craft the top 100?

For those who are unfamiliar, Yelp is an app and website where restaurantgoers can leave their own reviews of a place for others to read.

The top-100 list was compiled based on submissions from posters on the site, and ranks were compiled based on factors including ratings, reviews and geographic representation, the site says.
