Even though AC Milan were not expected to make any moves for the attack, news has emerged that Marko Lazetic is very close to joining from Red Star Belgrade.

According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews), Lazetic is about to wear join Milan and the decision to go for him was easy in the eyes of the management because he is young, talented and low cost.

The negotiation for the purchase of the young Serbian striker is in the final stages and should be completed in the next couple of days, with Elliott Management happy to provide the funds for a player who perfectly matches their vision for the future.

Milan are ready to invest around €5m (including bonuses) for the 18-year-old who is talked about as the potential ‘next Vlahovic’. Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara aim to close the operation as early as Tuesday and Lazetic will take the place of Pellegri.

The teenager will immediately make himself available to Pioli and will have the opportunity to study and learn from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud, two champions centre-forwards.
