NASCAR Hall of Fame driver comments on 2022

The Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum is set to begin the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season. The race will be held on a temporary 1/4-mile track in Los Angeles, California.

There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the event. That includes the debut of the NASCAR Next Gen car which has seen extensive testing.

Last year, Jeff Gordon stood alongside Clint Bowyer and Mike Joy in the FOX broadcast booth. However, Gordon announced last year that he would not return to the booth as he takes a higher role with Hendrick Motorsports.

FOX has announced their new broadcast team. At least for the first two races…

Tony Stewart and Clint Bowyer will call the opening races of the season. As of now, the Clash at the Coliseum and the Daytona 500 are scheduled for the pairing.

Tony Stewart comments

Clint Bowyer formerly drove for Stewart-Haas Racing before his retirement. At the time, Stewart was also racing as a teammate in an owner/driver role.

Stewart tweeted, “I’m teammates with Clint Bowyer again. Mike Joy will have his hands full. This is going to be fun.”

Stewart added, “To call the very first Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum and the Daytona 500 in an opportunity you don’t pass up.”

These days, Stewart is retirement from NASCAR Cup Series competition. However, he remains invested in the sport as a team owner. he also owns a dirt track, dirt series and multiple short track teams.
