SAN ANTONIO — Governor Greg Abbott made a stop in San Antonio for his "Celebration of Texas" tour.

Abbott attended the event on Saturday at Smoke BBQ and Sky Bar on 501 East Crockett Street.

Abbott spoke about job numbers in Texas, and said he's provided more funding for public schools than any other governor in history.

Abbott says Texas is stepping up by dedicating 3 billion dollars to help secure the border adding will help crack down on drug smugglers.

"This is dangerous and that's why we have our law enforcement on the border to try and keep fentanyl out of communities like Bexar County where we do know it's invading," Abbott says.

This week, Beto O'Rourke also stopped in the Alamo City. He gave his thoughts on the Texas power grid and said Gov. Abbott has not done enough to prevent another power grid meltdown.
