EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Reinaldo Marcus Green's new Warner Bros. film "King Richard" follows Venus and Serena Williams when they were young, rising tennis stars under their father's coaching.

On "The LA Times Envelope Roundtable" on Spectrum News 1, Green opens up to host Mark Olsen about working off the stories he was told about Richard Williams.

"Everybody's interpretation, or their memory, can be fuzzy at times," Green said. "So it's, you know, trying to figure out what the common through lines of all those stories are. And the one that seemed to always come back is just how much love Richard had for those girls, how much time he gave to those girls."

The roundtable also features directors Kenneth Branagh, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sian Heder, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Adam McKay. Click the arrow above to see Green discuss his film.
