Toy Story Land Updates, Strollers Get an Upgrade, and More News You Missed!

January seems to be flying right by, doesn’t it? Maybe that’s because we’re starting to get a lot more Disney news and updates for 2022.

Of course, we’re still following the Figment Popcorn Bucket drama , but in the meantime, there might be other big Disney stories you missed this week, so we’re here to make sure you stay updated.

Three Disney World Restaurants Now Accepting Reservations

Last week, we told you about three restaurants at Disney World that will be reopening soon. And now all three are accepting advance dining reservations. That’s right reservations are now open for Flying Fish at Disney’s BoardWalk, Jiko — The Cooking Place at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Turf Club Bar and Grill at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort.

Flying Fish reopens on January 27th, Turf Club Bar & Grill reopens on February 3rd; and Jiko reopens on February 17th. So if you want to eat at any of those restaurants within the next 60 days, it’s time to make those reservations.

Disney World Gets New Strollers

If you’re taking little kids to Disney World, you’ll need to make sure you have a stroller handy — and you’ll need to know about stroller rentals at Disney World. But the strollers you’ll get there now have a brand new look. Gone are the plain beige strollers — the new strollers are done up like Mickey, with red, black, and yellow colors (we loved these when we first saw them at Disneyland).

The new strollers are here!

You can get strollers in both single and double sizes — rentals cost $15 per day for a single (or $13/day if you rent for the length of your stay) and $31 per day for a double (or $27 per day for the length of your stay).

Toy Story Land Updates

We finally have updates about some upcoming projects for Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Remember the Roundup Rodeo BBQ restaurant that was supposed to open in 2020? Well, the global health crisis postponed its construction, but we now know it will open in the summer of 2022.

But that’s not all — Toy Story Land will also be getting a brand new store called Jessie’s Trading Post! According to Disney, “Andy discovered Jessie’s Trading Post playset tucked away in the attic, and is bringing it downstairs to set up shop—full of the coolest toys and finest souvenirs handpicked by the rootinest, tootinest cowgirl.”

Okay, that’s not 100% clear, but we believe this will be a new store in Toy Story Land. But we’ll let you know when we have more information.

Three Downtown Disney Locations Permanently Shutting Down

As we previously reported, Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort is getting a major expansion. Two new shops, Pelé Soccer and LovePop, have already opened in the shopping area, and more are on the way. In the meantime, though, three existing locations will get shut down to prepare for Downtown Disney’s makeover.
