Atlanta Braves: 9 must-see items in Cooperstown from World Series win

If you’re an Atlanta Braves fan looking to recapture the magical moments from the 2021 postseason and World Series championship, you might want to plan a trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., between now and the end of the 2022 postseason.

While the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is currently more in the spotlight than ever as Hall of Fame voting draws to a close, there are plenty of reasons for Atlanta Braves fans to visit Cooperstown this year. In fact, there are nine big reasons currently on display as part of the Museum’s “Autumn Glory” exhibit.

The Baseball Hall of Fame has announced nine items you can find within its Autumn Glory exhibit, each with an interesting tie to Atlanta’s first World Series title since 1995.

Joc Pederson’s pearl necklace that he wore throughout Atlanta’s postseason run

The spikes worn by Max Fried, Atlanta’s World Series Game 6 starter. The southpaw threw six shutout innings to earn the win in the Series-clinching contest.

A batting helmet worn by Atlanta outfielder and World Series MVP Jorge Soler

A bat used by Atlanta first baseman Freddie Freeman in Game 6 of the World Series. In that contest, Freeman doubled and hit a home run, going 2-for-4 as the Braves posted a 7-0 win.

A glove used by National League Championship Series MVP Eddie Rosario

A cap worn and ball thrown by Ian Anderson, Atlanta’s World Series Game 3 starter. The right-hander threw 76 pitches over five innings in that game, striking out four, walking three, and holding the Houston Astros hitless as the Braves eventually claimed a 2-0 victory.

The spikes worn in Game 6 by Atlanta reliever Will Smith. In 11 postseason contests during Atlanta’s 2021 run, Smith pitched 11 scoreless innings and racked up five saves, including the final frame of Game 6.

A cap worn in Game 6 by Atlanta shortstop Dansby Swanson, who hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning of that contest.

Additionally, as part of the exhibit, there is a cap worn by Astros manager Dusty Baker during the regular season as well as a batting helmet worn by Houston designated hitter/outfielder and American League Championship Series MVP Yordan Álvarez during the postseason.

Atlanta defeated Houston in six games to capture the World Series title.
