An old Central Division rivalry is renewed on Saturday night, as the Detroit Red Wings wrap up their back-to-back with a meeting down in Smashville as they take on the surprising Nashville Predators.
The Red Wings are coming off quite the battle with the Dallas Stars on Friday night. The two teams traded goals through the first two period, with Robby Fabbri, Pius Suter and captain Dylan Larkin finding the back of the net fro Detroit. Then, in the latter half of the third period, Tyler Bertuzzi scored on the power play to give the Wings the lead, however Jason Robertson scored in the dying minutes for the Stars, sending the game into overtime. It was then when Roope Hintz completed the comeback for Dallas, scoring his 17th of the season to down Detroit by a final score of 5-4.

Now the Wings have the task of knocking off one of the suprsingly good teams out of the Central Division, as the Predators are trying to get back up towards the top of the division. Nashville’s 5-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday snapped a four-game losing streak that knocked them down to third in the Centrall, and now trail the Colorado Avalanche by four points.
The Preds and Wings met back on December 7 in Detroit, Nashville coming away with a 5-2 victory.
