Two hospitalized after semi sideswipes an SUV on I-70

GOVE COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 10:30p.m. Friday in Gove County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Freightliner semi driven by Timothy B. Reeves, 53, Pfafftown, North Carolina, was westbound on Interstate 70 three miles west of the Castle Rock exit.

The semi sideswiped a 2020 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Godfrey, Spencer N. Godfrey, 25, Fletcher, North Carolina.

EMS transported Reeves and a passenger in the Freightliner Tyree, Tammy H. Tyree, 48, Wilmington, North Carolina, to the Gove County Medical Center. Godfrey was not injured. Tyree was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
