A notebook found with Brian Laundrie’s remains in a swampy Florida nature preserve has confirmed what many suspected: that he was responsible for the homicide of his fiancee, Gabby Petito, near Grand Teton National Park in the fall of 2021.

The FBI’s Denver Division announced Friday that a review of the notebook — which was found in October along with a backpack and revolver near Laundrie’s remains — “revealed written statements by Mr. Laundrie claiming responsibility for Ms. Petito’s death.”
