St. Marys Redevelopment Authority received a donation Wednesday to help fund their Amphitheater project.

CNB bank donated $10,000 to the project Wednesday.

The estimated cost of the project is $1 million.

Businesses located next to the future park torn down and relocated.

This will make room for the construction of the stage and seating.

The stage would be used as a space for community events and performances.

“It’s something St. Marys has needed for a long time,” Redevelopment Authority Vice President Warren Stewart said. “Our diamond is one section, but there really isn’t room to hold gatherings of your farmers market, your hometown festival.”

Most of the funding for the project is being made possible by community fundraisers and donations and grants.

After funding is secured, groundbreaking is expected some time next year.
