ANAHEIM, Calif. (KNX) — California State Long Beach returns to Angel Stadium this year, where it will hold commencement ceremonies for the classes of 2021 and 2022 from May 16 to 18.

The CSU shared the news Thursday, telling "Beach Graduates" to mark their calendars for the momentous, in-person occasion.

Each of the university's seven colleges will hold it's own two-hour ceremony, starting at 9 a.m. on May 16 with the College of Engineering. The Schedule is as follows:

College of Engineering: 9 a.m., May 16
College of Education: 1 p.m., May 16
College of Liberal Arts: 5 p.m., May 16
College of the Arts: 9 a.m., May 17
College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics: 1 p.m., May 17
College of Business: 5 p.m., May 17
College of Health and Human Services: 9 a.m., May 18

This is the second year CSULB has opted to hold in-person commencement ceremonies at Angel Stadium. Last year the school chose to do so to safely accommodate several hundred people while keeping in line with health and safety guidelines during the Coronavirus Pandemic. This year it will be held in the same location for similar reasons.

"School officials said last year’s decision was made after a recent school-wide survey revealed that by a six-to-one margin, students preferred to have their graduation ceremony in-person," The Long Beach Post reported, adding that last year graduates were only given two tickets each for attendees to see them walk.

This year, CSULB said limitations will not be so strict. Each graduate will be allowed up to 15 "grad passes" for loved ones to attend. Learn more here.
