It looks like the "Forgotten Generation" is going to get some love this fall from a museum in Illinois.

I had no idea Generation X has been considered "forgotten." As if. In case you're wondering, anyone born between 1965 and 1980 qualifies as Generation X.

Image Restoration Center goes as far as calling Gen X the "New Lost Generation."

Nowadays, they’re considered “lost” because they’re stuck between the Baby Boomers and the Millennials. In the workplace, many companies decide to focus on catering to their Millennial Generation workers through their policies. Before Gen Y came around, companies focused on their baby boomer employees – meaning the Gen Xers are typically overlooked in both policy-making and career opportunities.

Oof reading that hurt a bit. Welp, at least a museum in Illinois is taking care of Generation X, by putting us on display.

The Illinois State Museum in Springfield is going to roll out a new Generation X exhibit this fall.

Illinois State Museum Curator of History Erika Holst told AP "We think it's time Gen X got some love."

Up until today, I thought we got plenty of love.

Well, if you're a Gen Xer who reveled in the glory of the late 80s and 90s and have the pics and memorabilia to prove it, your stuff could go in the museum.

There's an online survey the Illinois State Museum is asking all Generation X people to fill out, and here's the best part, to also consider sending in some of their old 90s stuff.

Got an indestructible Walkman, a worn-out mixtape from your high school sweetheart, or even a busted-up Sega Genesis from one too many NBA Jam sessions? The Illinois State Museum wants that stuff too. Oh yeah, they want your pics as well.

Do you think I should send over my Junior Prom photo? I wore a teal jacket that night. I think it should probably go on display.

Fill out the survey HERE.
