Red discovers a new enemy in ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 Episode 9

In The Blacklist Season 9, Red began his investigation into the night Liz Keen died. He discovered that Dembe gave Liz the letter revealing Red’s identity. Red also realized that Liz’s murderer Vandyke was watching Liz and Dembe at the coffee shop where they met up. He blamed Dembe for being careless and leading Vandyke to Liz.

However, in episode 9, Aram mapped out Vandyke’s movements from the day of Liz’s death. This brought him to the conclusion that Vandyke couldn’t have followed Liz or Dembe. Red realizes that someone must have helped Vandkye find Liz. He tells Dembe that they need to work together to find out who this mysterious person could be.

Who led Vandyke to Liz?

Even though The Blacklist Season 9 Episode 9 just aired, fans already have plenty of theories about who could have led Vandyke to Liz. Some are too compelling not to consider. One fan pointed out that episode 9’s opening scene could be a clue about his identity.

“What will Red do when he discovers that Ressler led Vandyke to Elizabeth ( obviously to me anyway). Ressler was there. Big hint at start of episode,” a Reddit user wrote. The beginning of episode 9 showed a flashback to Ressler arriving too late to save Liz from being shot.

“You are probably right – it was the opening scene with Ressler, reminding us he saw it all … Sometimes the scene before the title is very significant to the episode but it didn’t seem to connect to anything in that episode,” another fan added.

When will ‘The Blacklist’ Season 9 return with new episode?

Unfortunately, fans have a while to wait before they will get an update on Red’s quest to find out who helped Vandyke kill Liz. The Blacklist Season 9 is going on hiatus yet again while NBC airs the Winter Olympics. The series will return on February 25 with an episode that will likely see the task force return to hunting down blacklister criminals.
