(KNSI) – A Waite Park man is accused of beating a girl with a baseball bat while high on methamphetamine. Police were called to a home on Joymar Drive around 5:15 a.m. on Thursday for a possible domestic assault. The caller told police to come quickly because Javier De Jesus Becerra Ramirez was trying to kill her daughter with a bat.

When police arrived, a teenage girl told them her father, Becerra Ramirez, could be heard yelling from the hallway outside her room. When she checked, she said he was naked and falling. The teenager says he broke into her room, saying he’d been calling for her. The teenager says he often gets high on meth and becomes irrational.

She said he hit her with the bat at least four or five times. The teenager said she is used to this behavior from Becerra Ramirez, and in the past, they have barricaded the bedroom door to prevent him from getting inside and harming her mother and siblings.

Becerra Ramirez has been charged in Stearns County District Court with assault in the 2nd degree with a weapon and domestic assault. Bail was set at $60,000.
