Arc’Teryx’s Aerios AR Mid GTX Boots Are Tailored Toward Backpackers

Arc’Teryx’s renowned ability to provide top-of-the-line technical gear is far from a novel trend, as the brand has managed to do so for well over the past three decades. While its jackets and parkas often garner most of the spotlight, the company has unveiled a new set of hiking boots that are worthy of some attention, too. The Canadian outerwear specialists have just released the Aerios AR Mid GTX, bolstering its trademark footwear line with a pair of stompers geared toward backpacking.

Seeing as backpacking is a hobby that’s based around the idea of unpredictability, Arc’Teryx crafted its latest boot to withstand that sense of unknowingness while still remaining light on the feet. But don’t let the Aerios’ lightweight composition fool you, as these shoes are as heavy-duty as they come. Their easy-going make-up is a result of a 3D-molded foam collar courtesy of Ultralon, which manages to keep your feet secure without all the heavy-duty wear.

For added defense, the weatherized boots boast a waterproof GORE-TEX membrane that assists in keeping them breathable and providing much-needed elemental protection. The AR Mid GTXs also sit on an uber-grippy Vibram XS Trek outsole, ensuring that the ground you walk on holds no threat to the incredibly durable set of waders.

Whether you find yourself on the town on a rainy Friday night or heading to the trails for a weekend full of fun and fauna, Arc’Teryx’s latest pair of footwear is built to handle just about anything while still looking terrific — which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise if you’re familiar at all with the brand. The Aerios AR Mid GTX boots are available for $260 on Arc’Teryx’s website in all standard sizes between 7 and 13.
