Pepsi gives a taste of the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show in a commercial with headliners Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar.

The ad, dubbed a trailer, is titled “The Call” and was helmed by “Straight Outta Compton” director F. Gary Gray.

Dr. Dre moves giant chess pieces to get the superstar lineup ready. Each artist heeds the call to perform at the Dre-centric show in the spot, starting with Eminem, who is seen working on lyrics opposite his alter ego Slim Shady.

From there, Snoop Dogg gets the call from Dre while he’s out cruising in a lowrider before on to Mary J. Blige at a photoshoot and Kendrick Lamar writing lyrics on paper that floats into the sky. A giant keyboard emerges from the ocean as Dr. Dre walks on a beach before the whole lineup arrives and walks to the stadium.

Super Bowl 2022, or Super Bowl LVI (Super Bowl 56), is set for Feb. 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The game will air on NBC and Telemundo and stream on Peacock.

Gray’s halftime show preview shows off a medley of songs including Dre and 2Pac’s “California Love” — which contains the line “Inglewood always up to no good” — as well as Eminem’s “Rap God,” Dre and Snoop’s “The Next Episode” and “Still D.R.E.,” Blige’s “Family Affair” and Lamar’s “HUMBLE.”

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation brought the lineup to the Super Bowl after working on the last two halftime shows — The Weeknd in 2021 and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira in 2020.
