Over the years, feminists, especially third-wave feminists, have diligently worked to dismantle the alleged “patriarchy.” From their support for abortion to gender equality in schools, athletics, and salaries to emphasizing sexual harassment, abuse, and assault, feminists have effectively shaped the country’s sociocultural spectrum in the 21st century.
So it’s beyond puzzling that when the story of Lia Thomas broke, these exemplars of female empowerment were nowhere to be found.
Groups that allegedly care about women show no evidence of doing so. Not one celebrity has spoken about a man annihilating women in a female sport. There has been no virtue-signaling, no coordinated wearing of pink pussycat ears, when what we’re talking about here is a man taking opportunities away from women.
This group of ideologues actually created a word, “mansplaining,” for when a man allegedly interrupts or talks too much. Yet these very same people cannot think of anything to say about biological males taking athletic opportunities away from women.
Their silence and lack of genuine concern speak volumes.
Any woman who claims to be a feminist, who claims to fight for female equality and empowerment, but is silent about this is a fraud. You cannot care about women and let men usurp their opportunities.
The future of women’s sports in this country hangs by a thread. This year it is Lia Thomas, but the number of male participants in women’s sports will surely rise if nothing is done to stop it. And when it does, it will be the female athletes who pay the price in terms of lost scholarships and opportunities to play.
The betrayal of feminists everywhere will allow biological males to dominate women’s sports. Women will pay the price for the perfidy of feminists who remained silent.
