R. Chris Hansen was born on November 6, 1955, in York, to JoAnn (Hansen) Luthy and Robert Hansen. He graduated from Marquette High School in 1974. He worked on the Hansen Family Farm until its sale in 1999 when he relocated to Omaha.
Chris had an infectious smile that accompanied his delightfully cheerful dimples. He was a kind, gentle, giving soul who never met an enemy. His heart was enormous and he loved, played, and worked hard. He would, quite literally, give you the shirt off of his back. He loved his family, working in the fields, and collecting Husker gear. Chris was also a lover of music, most notably Bob Seger and the Eagles, clothes, and the KC Chiefs. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chris is preceded in death by his father, Robert Hansen.

Left to cherish his memory are: son, Daniel (Kara) Hansen of Parker, CO, daughter, Stefanie (Jon) Urbom, of Lincoln, grandchildren, Henry, Theo, Tessa, Brooks, and Jack, mother, JoAnn Luthy, sisters, Susan (Jim) Clifton of McLean, VA, and Sandra (Randy) Nutzman of Lincoln, as well as, his nieces and nephews and their families, and countless friends.
