Nate Berkus Just Curated the Chicest Collection on 1stDibs

1stDibs has teamed up with interior designer and TV personality Nate Berkus to curate a selection of some of the designer’s favorite finds on the luxury marketplace’s recently launched Auctions platform. Berkus’s selects include items ranging from a midcentury Finnish lounge chair to a striking French Empire–style chandelier.

Berkus wanted to channel the excitement that comes with discovering the perfect vintage or antique piece—but without the endless digging. “Nothing is more exciting to me than shopping at auction and finding things that I absolutely love for a great price,” the designer said in a statement. “It’s the thrill of the find.”

The designer would know: Before becoming a celebrity interior designer, he cut his teeth in Chicago working for Leslie Hindman Auctioneers. “Now I basically spend the majority of my time searching for things online. I get alerts and notices every time a designer pops up, every time a watchmaker pops up, every time a furniture-maker pops up,” Berkus shared. “For the 1stDibs Auction, I selected a mix of lighting, furniture, and fashion accessories that felt timeless and versatile—items I’d love to live with.”

Berkus’s favorites include a low-slung sofa designed by Brazilian modernist Percival Lafer, a pair of ’60s-era brass sconces, and a mahogany Art Deco bar cabinet. “I’ve always loved the juxtaposition of contemporary items paired with one-of-a-kind vintage finds in the home and in my personal wardrobe,” he said.
