ITHACA, Mich. - According to the Office of the Sheriff, at approximately 5:52 a.m. on January 21, 2022, the Gratiot Sheriff's Office was dispatched to M-46 and Blair Rd, Bethany Twp Gratiot County for a two-car injury crash.
Officials say a westbound vehicle driven by 20- year-old, Maria Delgado, of Breckenridge crossed the center line and was struck broadside by an eastbound pickup driven by a 42-year-old man from Riverside.
According to Sheriff, Michael Morris, Delgado was pronounced dead at the scene.

The riverside man was taken to My Michigan Medical Center Gratiot for minor injuries, according to the press release.
Officials say preliminary reports show that Delgado was not wearing a seat belt.
It is unknown why the vehicle would have crossed the centerline because the roads were clear and dry, according to the Sheriff.
