Papa Roach new song news: Listen to “Stand Up,” which is “inspired by the social unrest of marginalized people throughout the world”

Nu-metal fans rejoice, as Jacoby Shaddix and Papa Roach have released a new song. The track, entitled “Stand Up,” is a catchy, high-octane rap-rock number about getting back up after a rough period in life. Listen to the single below.

“Stand Up” is the latest in Papa Roach’s arenol of new music. Last summer, the band released a new song called “Swerve” featuring FEVER 333 and Sueco, and then, they followed that up with “Kill the Noise” and “Dying to Believe.” All of the new songs are expected to arrive on a new album out sometimes later this year.

“‘Stand Up’ is inspired by the social unrest of marginalized people throughout the world. It’s about feeling of wanting to give up when you’re backed against the wall. For the ones that have been oppressed for so long that a sense of hopelessness is all they have,” frontman Jacoby Shaddix said in a statement. “‘Stand Up’ is meant to inspire that whisper, that small voice inside that you are worth standing for. Step into empowerment and shake the world with your voice.”

Papa Roach came onto the scene in the late-1990s and hit the big time with their 2000 rap-rock hit, “Last Resort.” That track is still a staple on rock radio, and the fact that Papa Roach are still topping the modern rock charts is a testament to both their success as a band and the longstanding popularity of the nu-metal genre.

Papa Roach will take their new songs, as well as old favorites, on the road later this year on a headlining North American tour this March alongside Hollywood Undead and Bad Wolves. Find tour dates via Papa Roach’s official website.
