Muscle cars are known for cheap power. That's practically their founding principle and one that runs back to the early days of the pony car. It's something the Ford Mustang GT tries to carry forward into the modern era, despite how expensive new cars are right now. American tuning company Roush would like to make your Mustang's horsepower-per-dollar ratio come up by a little, and as such has introduced a new supercharger.

The Bugatti Bolide is arguably the most extreme hypercar concept of the decade, with its wild aero and improbable aerodynamic upgrades that you would never expect to see on a production car. Yet that is what it will be; Bugatti is building just 40 of these crazy cars at a retail price of over $4.72 million. And incredibly, all of them are already sold out. So much for an economic downturn. For those lucky individuals, it will be a long wait before they will get to experience the car, as it is only expected to arrive in 2024. Until then, they can get a taste of what it will sound like by hearing it at this past weekend's Concorso d'Eleganza at the magical Villa d'Este.

Despite numerous global economic crises, people are still buying sports cars and American sports cars in particular. The Ford Mustang was recently named the most popular sports car in the world, again, and Chevrolet can barely keep up with demand for its C8 Corvette. But there's one iconic US sports car that's struggling: the Chevrolet Camaro. Despite offering impressive discounts and numerous special editions, the Camaro is still lagging behind the competition from Ford and Dodge. To make matters worse, the Camaro is in for a notable price increase for the 2023 model year, especially in the higher trims, which will see an increase of up to $3,700.

The question we have here is: Does the AT4 change any of that, and can we crown the GMC Terrain AT4 as the benchmark for the small adventure-ready premium compact crossover? That's a lot of words to describe a niche, so you know it's going to be a small one and the Terrain AT4, starting at $34,000, has the luxury of being the only contender for now. The GMC Terrain has the tough task of holding its own against less expensive leaders like the Bronco Sport, which comes with all-wheel drive and terrain modes as standard. That's despite the Ford's starting price of just $28,265.

The American consumer is no stranger to excessive markups. Gluttonous retailers are taking advantage of the situation the auto industry finds itself in, placing market adjustments atop the MSRP of new vehicles. We've seen some fairly shocking examples of this, with one Ford dealer recently asking as much as $145,000 for an F-150 Lightning.
