Bryan Danielson Says He Did Five Burpees Backstage After One Hour Match To Prove He Wasn't Tired

Bryan Danielson is a marathon man.

At AEW Winter is Coming, Danielson wrestled Hangman Page to a one-hour draw for the AEW World Title. Danielson is no stranger to long matches, having once gone 76 minutes in the Greatest Royal Rumble, and was praised for the pace he and Hangman kept for 60 minutes.

Was he tired after the match?

“After the match, backstage, the trainer was like ‘are you tired?’ I was like, ‘Hell no! I’m not tired’ and then I dropped and did five burpees just to prove it,” Danielson said with a laugh in an interview with Muscle & Fitness. “I’d be interested to know, how long, cardiovascular-wise I could go, before it’s like, ‘OK, that’s it! I’m done!’"

Danielson has stayed active since signing with AEW in January, wrestling nearly every week and competing in long contests against Page and Kenny Omega.

“A lot of the world, right now, is transforming into short attention span type stuff,” he said. “I’m trying, in my own personal life, to expand my attention span. One of the things that has always interested me in wrestling, is the long form, right? You know, I’ve been doing short form for so long with WWE. The TV matches are usually around three minutes but very rarely much longer than 10. I’ve been very interested in long-form story telling for a while.”

Danielson hasn't been on AEW television since losing to Hangman Page on the January 5 episode of AEW Dynamite.

It is unknown when he will return.
