One of the primary reasons these schools are looking into a four-day schedule is because of the need for teachers.
We spoke with Scotland County R-1 Superintendent Ryan Bergeson to see what went into them making this schedule switch.
"I think teachers and students alike know that they just have to put in a lot of effort in those four days and people are busy in other ways," Bergeson said. "A lot of people are traveling with their kids at a young age in a variety of sports and different endeavors and so, families are wired different and I think they need that extra day to do appointments and orthodontists and those kinds of things and that allows us to really get after it those four days of school."
We also talked with Bergeson about if he had any advice for other school districts considering implementing a four-day school week.
Tune into KTVO News next week to see that report.
