A new teaser for the latest Doctor Who boxset has solved an old franchise mystery, revealing at long last exactly what happened to Nicola Bryant's character Peri.
Nicola appeared alongside Colin Baker's Sixth Doctor as Peri in the 1980s, but her final appearance as the companion offered up more questions than answers.
Although some fans believed that Peri had died at the hands of alien Kiv, it was later suggested that Peri had actually survived and was living with king Ycarnos.

Now, following the announcement of a new season 22 boxset, a teaser trailer has confirmed that Peri has indeed been living on the planet Krontep for all this time.
Although Peri's fate has been explored across various Doctor Who adventures, this is the first time Nicola Bryant has reprised her role for the small screen.
The BBC announced that it had restored the original series' season 22 earlier this month, with a set of six serials now available to purchase on Blu-ray.

The fresh material breathes new life into Colin Baker's first year in the TARDIS, featuring appearances from infamous villains such as The Master, the Cybermen and the Daleks, as well as the debut of The Rani, played by Kate O'Mara.
There are a few bonuses to be enjoyed, too – with the boxset including brand new episode commentaries from Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant, as well as Tegan's Janet Fielding.
Doctor Who will air two more specials later this year on BBC One in the UK. In the US, the show airs on BBC America, with series 1-12 available on HBO Max.
