3 injured in multi-vehicle crash that closed roadway

UPDATE: CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Three people were sent to the hospital following a multi-vehicle crash that closed a stretch of roadway in Centre County Friday morning.

The crash occurred on State Route 350 in Rush Township when the driver of a car who was driving down the hill lost control and crashed into an oncoming tractor-trailer, slicing the car in half. The tractor-trailer then crossed the roadway and collided with a box truck that was also traveling down the hill, according to Mountain Top Fire Company Assistant Chief Travis Beres. This caused all three vehicles to be sent into a ditch along the road.

All three people involved in the accident were reportedly transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The tractor-trailer and box truck received significant damage from the head-on collisions.
