Tom Brady’s Fledgling Apparel Brand Lands at Nordstrom

Tom Brady’s namesake apparel brand is now available at Nordstrom.

Launched last week, Brady expanded to select Nordstrom locations and Nordstrom’s e-commerce site Wednesday. The fledgling label offers a mix of athletic and lifestyle pieces, including outerwear, hoodies, sweaters, tees, tanks, shorts, pants, socks and hats.

Nordstrom shoppers will be able to pick up Brady apparel in-person at locations in New York City; Los Angeles; Tampa, Fla.; and Natick, Mass. These stores will feature a “one-of-a-kind” display conceptualized by interior designer Willo Perron.

“The design was meant to evoke the athleticism and lifestyle that Brady represents,” Perron said in a statement. “I feel like if guys could just hang everything on a hook they would, and especially for athletic clothes, it feels counter intuitive to use traditional hangers. We wanted to create a system for shopping that was more flexible and malleable and that felt like an environment where these clothes would really live.”

Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion, created his self-named apparel brand with Jens Grede, the co-founder of Frame, and Dao-Yi Chow, one-half of the CFDA award-winning New York label, Public School. When the label introduced itself in September, press materials said Brady had been in the works for three years. The brand claims to use “fabrics and materials that fuse natural elements with cutting-edge technology to create a collection that is built to move, breathe, and sweat while you compete, live and recover.” Prices range from $20 to $495.

Brady’s debut lineup offers numerous styles in Pantone’s new Brady Blue hue. When the color specialist unveiled the custom color in December, it described the new shade as a “bold” and “impressive” shade of blue “with an intensity emblematic of Tom Brady’s self-determination and commitment to precision.”

“The persistence and meticulous precision displayed by Tom Brady to ensure this new striking blue hue displayed the boldness and strength of intensity he was looking for to symbolize the Brady Brand reflects the same precise way Tom Brady approaches all that he touches,” said Laurie Pressman, Pantone Color Institute vice president.

Bankable athletes offer the money-making cachet needed to get a new brand off the ground. Two-time NBA MVP Steph Curry also developed an eponymous line with longtime partner Under Armour, and the Golden State Warriors star’s ongoing on-court feats continue to drive interest in an array of products for children and adults.
