Thirteen dogs from New York state will appear in the 2022 Puppy Bowl, including three adorable pups from Upstate New York.
Puppy Bowl XVIII will feature more than 100 dogs on two teams, Team Ruff and Team Fluff, competing for the “Lombarky” Trophy. Celebrity chef Martha Stewart will coach Team Ruff and rapper Snoop Dogg will “raise the ‘woof’” as Team Fluff’s coach.
The annual event, held every Super Bowl Sunday, celebrates adoptable pets and showcases animal shelters and rescues, as well as their staffers, who help dogs and other animals find fur-ever loving homes. SUNY Oswego alumnus Steve Levy will serve as commentator alongside Taylor Rooks; other highlights include returning “Ruff-eree” Dan Schachner, who’ll call touchdowns and penalties in the cute football game, and a Kitty Halftime Show.
The Puppy Bowl will air Sunday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. on Animal Planet and stream on Discovery+.

The Rome Sentinel reports Rob Gronchowski, aka “Moo,” is cared for by Jennifer Vohwinkel, the Central New York-based owner of House of Paws Rescue in Utica, N.Y., and will represent House of Paws’ sister rescue Love My Pitties in Florida.
