Joel Dexter has discovered his father Warren Fox killed Brody Hudson in Hollyoaks.
The revelation came after Warren was run down by a mystery assailant and left for dead in the road earlier in the week.
Thursday's (January 20) first-look episode kicked off with Joel breaking the news to Maxine and Sienna that Warren had suffered some "bad brain injuries" in the crash.
"If you want to say goodbye to my dad, you're going to have to get to the hospital right now," Joel explained.
As they gathered at Warren's bedside, Sienna had to deflect allegations from Maxine that she'd run down Warren since he'd been hurt in the same way Brody died.
Sienna denied having anything to do with the attack, leading Maxine to admit she regretted turning down Warren's offer to move in together.
When Joel chased after a distraught Maxine, Sienna left Ethan a chilling voicemail threatening to make sure his life "won't be worth living" if she found out he'd been responsible for hitting Warren.

While the trio were waiting for news about Warren, Ste was being confronted in the village. Ethan claimed he'd been the one to run over Warren and he'd do the same or worse to Ste if he stepped out of line over their secret.
Back at The Dog, Maxine shared the news that Warren had a contusion on the brain, so while doctors were more hopeful, it would be "a long road" to recovery.
When Sienna later turned up to find Ste obsessively cleaning their van, he revealed the truth about Ethan running down Warren.
"He was dead threatening to me," Ste confided in his business partner. "You thought he was scary with a gun? You should have seen him."
Sienna then promised Ste that once Warren is back on his feet, she'll make sure that Ethan won't "know what's going to hit him".
In shocking final scenes, Joel was reading bible passages in Latin at Warren's bedside when his father was haunted by memories, then he blurted out while unconscious: "I killed Brody."

Warren woke up shouting Brody's name as Joel contemplated what to do with his father's bombshell confession.
