2 killed after car crashes into pole during chase in Warner Robins identified

It happened around 1 a.m. in the 1200-block of Russell Parkway.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — Georgia State Patrol has identified the two people killed in a chase and crash in Houston County early Friday morning.

Warner Robins Police say they tried to make a traffic stop on a Jeep Cherokee for failure to maintain lane, but the vehicle sped off, leading to a brief chase down Russell Parkway around 1 a.m.

Georgia State Patrol says the driver, 48-year-old Fredrick Faulkner of Warner Robins, lost control and went across all lanes of the road. He hit a utility pole, causing the Cherokee to overturn.

Faulkner and his passenger, 28-year-old Mercedes Chikas of Byron, were fatally injured in the crash.
