Reports have confirmed that former NXT and Intercontinental Champion, Sami Zayn, has penned a new, multi-year contract with WWE. Rumours were suggesting that at the start of the year, frenemies Zayn and Kevin Owens could have been on their way out of Stamford and potentially following their fellow indie cohort to the AEW roster. However their loyalties seem to lie with WWE, for the meantime at least.

Zayn has since taken to social media to provide a humbling comment on his decision, stating that:

“Sticking around and having fun, that’s the Sami Zayn way.”

I personally hope that his loyalty to WWE bodes well for his singles career. Zayn has yet to reach his full potential on the SmackDown roster, currently ‘feuding’ with Jackass Forever star, Johnny Knoxville, as they build towards the Royal Rumble. Sami has also recently shared the ring with the likes of Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, a huge nod to his popularity as a crazed heel.

Are you happy about Sami Zayn’s decision? Let us know in the comments.
