I'm a long time Verizon customer and I just know that because I have my heart set on that green S22 ultra they aren't going to offer it. 😒

I'm beginning to wonder why the RED has appeared to be replaced by a Burgundy color. Just guessing, could it be that Big Red (Verizon) will be only recipients of the RED phone?

If that's the case, I have only two to decide from. Might be a good thing.

Yea don't think that's the case. Surprisingly "big red" hasn't ever really done a red phone as an exclusive. Also Samsung's exclusive releases tend to be some shade of blue. Of course anything is possible. I just hope they are doing more than just black for their higher memory variants.

Where did it go? However, does make it an easier decision for me if I go with the S22U...

Just make it white or black and my decision would be made.

Then again, with a good skin, any color could be achievable.

This article implies the price for the S22 Ultra will be $100 more than the same S21 (base model anyway). But is it accurate? We'll most likely know come Feb 8.

"That being said, this information comes from a tipster who published it on Twitter. According to the information, the Galaxy S22 pricing will start at $899. The Galaxy S22+’s base model will cost $1,099, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s will set you back $1,299."

Sounds reasonable.

What will be interesting (for me at least) is the rumour that the Exynos 2200 haven't been performing well and that Samsung may consider shipping the S22 line with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in all regions.

Being in Australia, we've always had the inferior Exynos processors in Samsung phones. And while the Exynos 2100 was decent and compared well to the Snapdragon 888, O think the Snapdragon chips are still better, so the S22U coming with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, would be really exciting for me.

Also want to see what camera improvments Samsung have implemented on the phone.

I read an article that said it was unlikely for Samsung to be able to purchase or manufacture enough Snapdragon 8 Gen chips to use in their S-series phones worldwide. They did delay the release of the 2200; however, it is how being noted for release on the same day they announce the S-series...Feb 8.

But just one more article on speculations on the S22 series phone that are rampant on the internet.

And I will wait a few weeks after release to order and most likely via Amazon. Looking at the sales history of the S21U, released on Amazon Jan 14 at 1199 it dropped to 999 for a few days. I'll add it to my Amazon price tracker and watch for a few weeks before ordering.

WELL!!!
This article basically says the Exyno 2200 is a POS and Samsung may place the Snapdragon into all phones (however, never mentions you guys "down under.")

One odd note I read a few days ago was the the Tensor was developed by Samsung in their process of doing the 2200 from the 2100. Therefore, I have to wonder if some of the problems from the 2200 development could have floated over to the Tensor.

Interesting article; hope it works out for you.

And this article states the opposite and Exynos 2200 will be used....

From the rumours I've read, it might be all S22 phone variants in all regions. So that should be Australia.

Unless the rumour is false and we'll get an Exynos variant again.

About Tensor, yeah it was found that Tensor is basically a scrapped Samsung Exynos design that Google used for the Pixel 6 phones. If it was somewhat based on the S22, then it might explain why the Pixel 6 tends to heat up from time to time even when you're not doing anything strenuous on the phone.

In any case, I'm looking forward to the S22. My Pixel 6 Pro experience hasn't been great with all the issues I've run into, so I'm open to moving to a new phone.

Everyday I get closer to saying, YES to the S22 ultra. I really wanted the Pixel 6 pro and then the problems with the software had me worried, now, maybe it is fixed; maybe not. But in the back of my mind there will always be a question on the long term reliability of the hardware, from the newly designed Tensor to the use of the Exynos 5123 modem.
Still think the P6P is better looking, prefer the pixel UI, but the use of Qualcomm processor and X65 miodem is really selling it for me.
