A Waterloo man was arrested Wednesday in Canandaigua after allegedly selling large amounts of fentanyl. According to Canandaigua Police, a co-investigation by them, Seneca and Ontario County Sheriff’s Offices, the Geneva Police Department, and the Department of Homeland Security found Jose Gonzalez-Oritz to be selling large amounts of the deadly drug.

A 25-year-old Geneva man has been arrested on a felony strangulation charge. 25-year-old Michael Pierce (AKA Brandon Dockery) is accused of placing his hands around another person’s neck and throat and applying pressure. These actions caused the victim’s breathing and blood circulation to be impaired, which also caused them physical injury.

One driver was killed and another hospitalized following a two-car collision on State Route 31 in the town of Lyons late Friday morning. State Police say Nancy Delork, of Lyons, was traveling west when her car crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck an eastbound car head-on. Delork was airlifted to Strong for treatment of her injuries.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a New Jersey man following the investigation into a Burglary on Cole Road in the Town of Lyons. John P. Lipert, age 25, of Andover New Jersey was arrested on a warrant for Burglary in the 3rd Degree, Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree and two counts of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree. The charges stem from an investigation into a burglary that occurred in May of 2021 on Cole Road in the Town of Lyons. It is alleged that Lipert unlawfully entered a building on Cole Road and stole several tools. During the commission of the burglary, it is also alleged that Lipert did damage to the building and a vehicle that was parked at the location.

A Penn Yan woman faces felony criminal mischief charges after police say she threw stones at a car as it was driving by her on Lincoln Avenue. Police say since the alleged incident caused more than 250-dollars in damage and will require repair, 35-year-old Mae Rhoads was charged with a felony.

A Waterloo man is facing a number of felony charges after being arrested in connection with a robbery that happened earlier this month. Seneca Falls Police charged 23-year-old Dejon Butler with robbery, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon after he allegedly took property belonging to another person while possessing a knife. Butler is also accused of striking the victim with the blunt end of the knife, resulting in minor injuries. Police recovered the knife at a residence in Seneca Falls.
