Larrydean Powell Robinson, 79, of Wellsville, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He was a lifelong resident of rural Montgomery County.

Larry was born February 6, 1942 to Gail and A. Lucille (Powell) Robinson. On June 5, 1960 Larry married his high school sweetheart Beverly Ann (Sublette) of High Hill.

Larry was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church of rural Montgomery County. He graduated from Montgomery County R-II in 1960 and was a member of the FFA Chapter. In elementary school, he played on the basketball team.

Larry had an early childhood goal to own a lot of land with a tall fence and to have a lot of cattle. He really enjoyed farming and being outdoors. During his lifetime, he raised crops, sheep, hogs and cattle. He trained his ranch horses and teams for pulling wagons and farm equipment. He achieved his childhood goals for land and cattle and shared this passion and knowledge with three generations. He appreciated the time he got to spend with many of his grandsons who helped him over the years on the farm.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; daughter, Lisa (Kenneth) Strube and grandsons, Kent Strube, Justin (Angela) Strube, Keith (Nikki) Strube, Jeremiah (Megan) Strube, and 10 great-grandchildren; son, Stacey Robinson and grandchildren, Travis (Lisa) Robinson, Clinton Robinson, Ashley Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Bailee Robinson and five great-grandchildren; daughter, Rebecca (Dale) Gabel and grandchildren, Wyatt (Kalea) Gabel and Cheyenne Gabel, daughter-in-law, Brenda Robinson; and Larry’s best friend since fifth grade and longtime pastor John Brumagin.

Larry is preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Mattie (Oliver) Powell and Elijah Allen and Lucile (Wilburn) Robinson; parents, Gail and A. Lucille (Powell) Robinson; brother, Allen Gay Robinson; and son, Guy Robinson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City. The family will receive friends that day from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
