Melbourne's digital chief joins aged care provider St. Vincent's Health

The chief digital officer of the city of Melbourne has announced her move to aged care provider St. Vincent's Health Australia.

In a social media post, Michelle Fitzgerald, who is also the city council's customer and digital general manager, said she is filling in the same position of CDO at the hospital group.

Fitzgerald has held her post at the council for the past six years. She had led its smart city office in her first four years and eventually took on the technology and digital innovation director role from 2019.

She had previously worked as a partner at accounting firm PwC for over a decade.

The digital chief said she is looking forward to work with her new colleagues in "[scaling] up digital and data solutions to benefit our patients, residents, staff and partners across our hospitals and aged care facilities".

Kensington Hospital moves rostering, payroll to the cloud

Kensington Private Hospital, a multi-disciplinary hospital based in New Zealand's North Island, has tapped software provider Advanced Management Systems to move its payroll and rostering into the cloud.

The move to the cloud via the AMS Pulse system allows the private care provider to scrap paper-based processes while staying compliant with the latest legislation requirements.

The system, according to AMS, enables staff to access their rosters, timesheets and employment details from anywhere on any device. They can be notified of any update and make change requests in real-time.

Moreover, its move to the cloud saves the hospital from investing more in managing its core human resource function by leveraging the AMS Outsource Service's standard framework. "[W]e free up our admin resource and are well placed to grow as an organisation with expert core HR and payroll on tap," said Steve Soufflot, CEO of Kensington Hospital.

Founded in 2001, the hospital has five operating theatres conducting more than 4,000 procedures each year.

Proof of COVID vax available now on My Health Record

The Australian Digital Health Agency has put up a reminder telling people that they can access proof of their COVID-19 vaccination through My Health Record.

The health information platform shows a user's immunisation history statement, including COVID-19 vaccination, and their COVID-19 digital certificate, which becomes available after receiving two doses. The digital pass can also be downloaded from the platform to a digital wallet.

COVID-19 vaccination details flow into My Health Record after these are reported to the Australian Immunisation Register.

My Health Record has also built a new dashboard that shows all COVID-19-related information in one place, including vaccination details, test reports, medical conditions, medicines, allergy information, as well as links to the vaccine clinic finder and side effect checker.
