The Panthers had their best season ever in 2021-22. They secured the Presidents' Trophy for most points, set the NHL record for goals scored in a season, and set another record for most comeback wins when trailing three or more goals. They played fast, they played hard, and they were never out of a game. Three times this season they came back from four-goal, third period deficits. The Colorado Avalanche defeated the St. Louis Blues 3-2 in Game 6 to take the series 4-2. Darren Helm scored the game-winning goal with five seconds left in the game, and J.T. No secret hockey players are tough. Just yesterday we learned Chris Tanev played through a separated shoulder, torn labrum, & a sprained neck. At that point, it might be best practice to simply shut a guy down, but Tanev is his own man so not for me to determine that. The Edmonton Oilers knocked off their provincial rival, the Calgary Flames, in overtime on Thursday night to advance to their first Western Conference Final since 2006. Oilers captain Connor McDavid scored the overtime winner in Game 5 to record his twelfth point of the series and 26th of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. McDavid's superstar teammate, Leon Draisaitl, is also sitting at 26 points following an incredible 17 points in five games against the Flames.

It's a sure sign that Dylan Larkin of the Detroit Red Wings is looking for a big payday. With one season left to go on his current deal, Larkin has made the sudden decision to change agents, going with heavyweight CCA Sports and representative Pat Brisson (along with Matt Williams). Josh Manson has been a welcome addition to the ranks of the Colorado Avalanche. His unique blend of physicality, defensive acumen, & timely offensive contributions pushed the Avalanche past the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2001-02. The team had stalled out more than once in recent years, and the frustration of the team's leadership was apparent. GM Joe Sakic has done well to stack the Avalanche team to push them over the hump.
